#9

I had a random thought to do a countdown of my top 10 Christmas memories from the first 30 years of my life. Yesterday, I talked about the family vacation to Maui over the Christmas break. Today the countdown continues ( I can feel your anticipation and excitement growing)!

When I was a young lad I had a streak of getting ill on holidays and on my birthday. This particular Christmas (I believe I was around 11 years old) was no different. I had a mild stomach ache the day before; nevertheless, I woke up on Christmas morning giddy with anticipation. I went downstairs and saw that my parents had filled my stocking with all sorts of goodies. After the opening of the stockings, my family then sat down for a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, orange juice, and cinnamon buns. After filling my stomach with all of the hot food, my stomach started to shake like the great earthquake of 1784. Soon I found myself running up the stairs and lunging desperately for the toilet. Alas, I did not make it in time. My poor mom had to clean up my vomit on Christmas day. I do not remember when or if I opened my presents that day, but I do know that I missed the toilet. *sigh* Hope that never happens again!

  1. lol. I remember having strep throat and trying not to infect your grandmas! Bad year! Throwing up on Christmas would be pretty bad.

  2. I have thankfully deleted that incident from the stored files in my brain!
