My most memorable Christmas happened to come just one year ago. Sure I could talk about the cool presents, the great food, or the unseasonably warm weather, but I want to focus on one aspect of last Christmas. This Christmas is the most memorable to me because it was the last Christmas that my family got to celebrate with my dad still with us. We all knew last year that it could be our last Christmas with the old man. I will miss seeing him suck on his giant candy canes, fussing over it being too noisy in the house, and raving about my mother's latest dish. I am overjoyed to say that my dad was a firm believer in Christ. Our Christmas celebrations always included the reason for the season (Jesus). Today if you are reading my blog and you have not thought about Jesus this Christmas season can I ask you something? Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Have you kept the ten commandments? (In descending order: coveting, lying, stealing, adultery, murdering, disobeying parents, not giving God one day in seven, using God's name as a curse word, worshiping false idols, not putting God first in everything) If you have broken any of those commandments then you are in danger of being sent to hell when your earthly life ends. This is why Jesus came. He humbled Himself and became a man, went to the cross to die for your sins, was buried in a tomb after pouring out His life's blood to cover your sin, and rose again on the third day (defeating the power of sin, death, and hell). Please repent (turn back to God - away from your old lifestyle) and trust Jesus for salvation the way you would trust a parachute when you jump out of an airplane. "Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for your flesh". This Christmas put your faith in Christ the way my dad did. I will miss my dad this evening when my family gets back together for Christmas eve, but I rejoice knowing that he is alive in Christ. My dad is in heaven because of Jesus coming to earth and dying for him. Last year was a wonderful Christmas. Time with family is important. Eternity with Jesus is more important. Make sure you have a right standing with God this Christmas!

  1. This is a good memory I agree. You know what I will always remember? The Christmas (i think it was two years ago) where I sat by your dad and every time i opened a present and set it next to me...he moved it and put it in some order that he felt worked...because he liked to rearrange things. That was funny to me, he kept touching all my gifts lol. Funny, I missed him today, but I'm glad I will see him again.
