#3

Every family has their Christmas traditions. Certain things though are infamous when it comes to Christmas in the Freeman family. Big candy cane sticks in my dad's stocking every year, the Sugar Bear ornament, watching Christmas Vacation, and white elephant gifts that pop up every year (Puerto Rico plaques anyone?). My mom and dad (I think my mom did most of the work) always had a stocking filled with goodies waiting for us on Christmas morning. This particular Christmas (I was a teenager) stood out because of what happened when I tried to wake my dad up that morning. Everyone had to be awake before we could start opening our Christmas stocking, so my mom said "one of you go get your father out of bed", so I went upstairs and opened my parents bedroom door (a big deal at the time) and shook my dad saying "Merry Christmas, time to get up" (or something along those lines). My dad made a funny noise and then proceeded to roll over and rip the loudest fart I had heard up to that point in my life. It made me run out of the room squealing in laughter. That story lived on in infamy for many years. I know the subject of "farting" is gross, but it was a funny way to start Christmas.

  1. I'd like to forget the Sugar Bear ornament if possible, and the farting too!
