There are occupational hazards for just about every job under the sun. Mailmen being chased by dogs is a funny stereotypical example of an occupational hazard. For teachers the only real occupational hazard is that we sit in a room filled with students who are either healthy or they aren't. Last week we had a high percentage of students out ill and when they came back most of them were still ill. They hacked, sneezed, coughed, and blew their noses frequently. I did my best to keep my room clean (Lysol, wiping desks down, and keeping windows open), but I succumbed. Tuesday morning I started feeling it big time and by yesterday afternoon I was leaving work an hour early and taking today off. My energy is sapped. Hope that I get better soon. It actually has been refreshing to take today off. I have not had a day off in over a month. Good day to you!
