Lameness

We Christians too often substitute prayer for playing the game. Prayer is good; but when used as a substitute for obedience, it is nothing but a blatant hypocrisy, a despicable Pharisaism...To your knees, man! and to your Bible! Decide at once! Don't hedge! Time flies! Cease your insults to God, quit consulting flesh and blood. Stop your lame, lying, and cowardly excuses. Enlist!  - C.T. Studd

  1. I'm studying Haggai right now. One thing that's really hitting hard is how I/we can so easily and piously justify away inactivity....or to look like we're doing something for Jesus and appease our conscience, we'll do easy stuff, like prayer meetings and banquets while there's real souls that are lost and real people who have real needs. We're many times just scared, lazy, or have given up, but don't want it to look like any of those things.

  2. Indeed. My inactivity/laziness/excuses are lame. Nicole always says "no excuses!". I agree with her. When I sin or am lazy there aren't any excuses for it.
