Growing Up

The other night we had our first night of training and we did some getting to know you activities. As we were getting to know each other one of our girls talked about the sports she had played. One of the other guys on our team asked her why she doesn't play for CBU and she responded "I had to pick between having a job and playing sports." I then said "Growing up stinks, doesn't it?"

I know all too well about this reality. I work so much and am involved in so many things that I don't have much free time to participate in hobbies that I enjoy. I have not acted or directed a play in a few years now (other than working with my drama class at school) and have not been able to join any sports leagues. Though I have had the opportunity to start playing basketball on Monday night's at the Grove Church which is near my home on. It's all just part of growing up. I am not bitter about this though. So I don't want to sound like I am whining. It's just part of growing up. I wouldn't trade the stuff we do at church or have undertaken with CBU for a play or a sports league! They are more important and have more than temporal value. Maybe one day though, I will have enough free time to do something like that again!
