Pyscho Babble

I get irritated when I hear lame psycho babble or jargon that makes no sense. I hear believers in Christ (at least they claim to be believers) say lame things like "find your inner color", "live in tension", "preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary use words", "Salvation is the entire universe being brought back into harmony with its maker", "Love Wins", “When you are sleeping, God gazes at you with love, because you were His idea", "I feel blessed to be able to fully be who I am", "Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self"

We don't need to give people weird statements that make little or no sense. We need to teach them about what the Bible says, just like Jesus told us to do. We love God first and foremost, then we love others like we love ourselves. Make disciples. Preach the Gospel. Disciple new/younger believers. Serve our community with an emphasis of the service being that it points people to Jesus. Read the Bible. Do what it says. Sorry if I have fallen into cliche quoting after just posting quotes and ranting about it!

Deuteronomy 8:3
He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

John 6:29
Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him (God the Son) whom He (God the Father) has sent."

Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.

  1. Yah, I often get tired of hearing sermons with Bible verses instead of Sermons from the Bible and worship Songs about problems instead of praising God for who He is.

I don't know how you feel about Bluegrass music, but I have been sooooo blessed by what the lead singer of Third Day and his singer friends have done in their CDs called "Glory Revealed" and sequel.

It's simply Scripture being sung and it is powerful! I wish I was a musician so that I could put more Scripture to music like they are doing. There is just something so powerful in praising God through His own Word!
